Ferry Explodes – Blasts Boydston – Disgraces City Again
The videos on this page accompany the above commentary written by Bruce McFarland for The Signal on October 23, 2007. The public is invited to take a look at this series of 10 videos from the October 9, 2007, Santa Clarita City Council meeting that show councilmember Frank Ferry's abuse of power – so much so that he claims fellow councilmember TimBen Boydston doesn't have the right to vote on issues.
The issue that sparked this outrage was the consideration of a so-called “Field of Dreams,” which is a privately owned and operated sports complex that would be funded by $30 million to $60 million of public funds. The proposal had been pushed internally through the Parks Department onto a line item in the council’s consent calendar. TimBen Boydston pulled the item from the consent calendar and asked many pertinent questions. Several members of the public also questioned the action.
Frank Ferry has been one of the main proponents of the sports complex that would be operated by “Big League Dreams LLC.” This isn’t the first time that Frank Ferry has acted inappropriately. He has a history of bullying city council members when he doesn’t get his way. He even goes after concerned citizens who challenge him in during the public participation section of council meetings.
